Factions are not cosmetics. They are spawn, colour, and who you can paint next to. Scores are the count of tiles each banner owns.

North-west. Burn the map. Hold the fireline. Tide
North-east. Flood the crucible. Never recede. Thorn
South-west. Root in, then strangle the rest. Volt
South-east. Strike first. Light the board.

Joining happens on the home overlay. After that the intel panel shows your banner for the rest of First Blood.

Not in Season 1 once you swear. Pick with the live scores in mind.

Which faction is best?

The one with fewer pixels, if you like an underdog grind. The one your friends picked, if you like a mural.
